Inspection & Maintenance

Gordon-Darby was the first ever I/M program management and VID contractor in the United States. Since our founding in 1982, Gordon-Darby's philosophy has been to emphasize quality over quantity. We have an outstanding reputation in the industry for developing and operating highly successful programs. Development and operation of centralized or decentralized vehicle emissions systems, electronic communication networks, data systems and I/M program management services have been an integral part of Gordon-Darby operations since our beginning.

Since our founding, Gordon-Darby has implemented and managed a variety of centralized and decentralized I/M programs in areas as diverse as the states of Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, Arizona, Indiana, New Hampshire and Texas.

  • Overall system, network, database and application services
  • Decentralized inspection network implementation and operation
  • Administrative, management and enforcement application services
  • Basic and enhanced tailpipe/evaporative emissions, OBD and safety test equipment
  • North American based, bilingual call center/Help Line services
  • Inspector training and certification
  • Public information and education

Gordon-Darby implemented and operated the first centralized “advanced” emissions testing program in the United States. Since rolling out the company’s first centralized program in 1984, the company has maintained its reputation as the industry leader in delivering quality vehicle inspection services.

Gordon-Darby is the only I/M contractor that produces all of its own hardware and software systems. We combine a limited number of hardware components obtained from outside vendors with internally manufactured equipment to create our own systems.

Manufacturing our own advanced hardware and software systems means Gordon-Darby has complete control over our solutions, down to the last dynamometer bolt and line of computer code. This control gives us confidence in the quality of our products and gives our partners peace of mind.
