Gordon-Darby acquires three Fish and Game Licensing Contracts
Gordon-Darby, Inc. (Gordon-Darby), a 100% subsidiary of Opus Inspection Inc. (Opus), has acquired the Agency Management Solutions (AMS) Fishing and Hunting Electronic Licensing Business Unit (AMS Business Unit) from Kalkomey Enterprises, LLC.
The AMS Business Unit will continue to provide the same services, with the same operational management team and staff under the leadership of industry veteran Mitch Strobl as its General Manager. The entire AMS team is highly experienced and well appreciated by its customers and other stakeholders. The AMS team will be augmented and executive managed by the Gordon-Darby team.
The AMS Business Unit has three (3) contracts with state/commonwealth customers in Massachusetts, Nevada, and New York. As part of the transaction, Gordon-Darby is also acquiring all of the intellectual property of the AMS Business Unit.
“The AMS Business Unit acquisition increases our footprint in the Fishing & Hunting electronic licensing industry, while offering management and technology talent to benefit all of our customers,” said Gordon-Darby President, Joel Unverzagt. “Gordon-Darby recognized that this was an opportunity to grow its fishing and hunting sales business in the right way, as it shares with the AMS Business Unit and its employees a common ‘family type’ culture and devotion to customer service. This is not surprising as both businesses were operated by their founders for many years, and those founders provided a ‘family type’ culture for the businesses which focused on customer service and treating people the right way.“
The AMS Business Unit, further enhanced by the integration into the Gordon-Darby support system, will continue to focus on providing and enhancing the products and services that have contributed to their reputation for high quality over the history of the business unit. “The AMS team and I are excited to join Gordon-Darby. With its strong financial position and experience with a broad range of government customers, Gordon-Darby will help the unit to address the future needs of our customers while we grow our business,” said AMS Business Unit General Manager Mitch Strobl.
